Hello Bww2-ers ♥! How are all of you? I hope you guys are doing good...

Before you begin reading this questionnaire, be aware that the answers
and suggestion given will shape the future of bww2
. So if you don't read
the questionnaire carefully and give a shitty response, essentially you will get a
shitty forum. This questionnaire is my attempt to get bww2-ers opinions about
the new forum and improving it. Keep in mind that the Staff will ALWAYS have the
final say on everything, so please don't start flaming members because the
suggestion you proposed was rejected
.

Anyways, if you were a member of the old forum you are probably aware
that Bww2 has gone through several upgrades and improvements. I do realize
that some of the improvements made in the new forum, well lets just say some
Bww2-ers aren't happy with it. For example the eight word limit, I know that
Bww2 for years has been a forum that allowed major spamming and that it has
become a habit for most of us. But, at the same time I want the members who
constantly upload for Bww2 to be happy by receiving comments. My point
wasn't for this to become a hassle, but to provoke more interaction within the
community. Let's face it...if it weren't for the hide tags or the word limit a lot of
you would never thank the uploader or let alone give a substantial comment. So
this brings me to the first subject of this questionnaire:

What do bww2-ers think about the word limit? Yay...nay? If
your answer is nay then what would be an alternative? Please
give a VALID and INTELLECTUAL answer.

                    - Previous system was the "50 posts & Super Member"
which included the hide tag system.

The next subject is the structuring of the forum; mainly focusing in the download
section. From what I know this "new" layout has been received by bww2-ers for
the most part in a positive way. I honestly think it's a bit more user friendly, especially
for new members of the bww2 family. Not to mention it makes the life of the Staff
members a bit more sweeter. Because with this new layout, a lot of times it gets rid
off the confusion of "where in the world do I post this?".

Are you happy with the current organization/layout? Does
it make it easier to browse through bww2?

Coming up next comes the small upgrades such as the Announcement and Important
panel, multiple themes for the forum, Chat box, double click quick edit function, Bww2'
music search engine (bww2.com) and the Arcade area.

What is your opinion about these new additions to the forum? Do
you guys read the Announcement and Important panels often? Are
          they functional and practical?

Finally comes the new project Bww2 has come to adopt; the Artist of the Month. This
new project was the effort of multiple Staff members to not only introduce underrated Asian
artists, but also again induce member activity and somewhat set us apart from other Asian
music forum out there.

Does the Artists of the Month, actually help you encounter new and
intriguing artists? Does bww2 effectively present the featured artists?

And least but not last, I've been wanting to add new projects and sections to bww2.
One of the projects that have been sitting for a while was a Scavenger Hunt game, which
whenever the bww2 team gets a chance we will be launching it.

Do bww2-ers think the new projects would increase members' posting activity
          and interaction with the community?

I do know that bww2 gets thousands of visits daily, but many of these visiting members
never actually communicate with other bww2-ers. I am desperately trying to increase
the number of members whom try to make new friends on bww2 and constantly participate
in posting in the forum etc. Not only for the sake of the current members whom are active,
but also the well being of the entire forum. If the members stopped participating outside of the
download section, essentially bww2 and it's effort to become a friendly and close niche
network would die.
I am not sure if some of you bww2-ers were here during the 2006 and 2007
years, when bww2 was at its peak. In my opinion, it was one of the most wonderful
experiences I had a chance to participate in. As an Admin, I want to bring these nostalgic
times back and let the new generations of bww2-ers to experience it too. I want to make
this a place where members can come to not only to satisfy their needs for downloads, but
also a place where they can come to make new friends, relax and have fun. To help this
happen I've been thinking of introducing new areas to the forum. At the moment, I
do not have many ideas as to what new sections I could add to bww2. Perhaps a brand
new section for members to discuss Asian culture, cuisine and fashion? Or maybe an
Role Playing area? Suggestions???

As a member of bww2, what would entice you to be an active member? Is
there something in particular that interests you in a forum?

For those of you whom read this entire questionnaire and answered it, I thank you from
the bottom of my heart. Again, I would like to ask you, bww2-er, is there anything the
Staff can do to improve your experience in our forum? As suggestions and answers
are posted, this post will be updated and possible polls will be introduced.

ps: If I have missed anything, Staff members, please do tell me!!!

as a very very old bww2 member and as a person who is a member of more than 200 forums and admin in couple of them, I'll give you couple of suggestions:

1- remove the hide tag, everyone can get the link even without posting, so its useless, those who say thanks will say thanks even if you remove that rule.

2- I don't know if zetaboards have this feature or not, but in lots of forums there is a thanks button under the original post, its a good feature to make uploaders happy and a lot efficient than 8 word limit or hide tag or whatever we are using.
you can visit this forum http://www.freshwap.net/forums/ for example to see the feature.

3- I like the 50 non-spam posts idea, but non-spam posts require some nice threads with nice topics... since bww2 threads are either "hello how are you" or download threads, I don't think that would be efficient in this forum. You can't stop leechers anyway, so just let them be.

4- The download section and news and photo galeries and everything is under Asian Music, that can be a little bit confusing for people, its better to put download section under something specifically for download and put news, photos and others under some other section.

5- The download section structure is currently good, although as I said before, I think its a good idea to add HD and Lossless sections too. All korean MVs lately have been HD, so I think it worth it to dedicate a sub-forum to that. of course some members need a little bit of education about HD and lossless and all that stuff, but if it works out it will be awesome.

6- Decrease the dictatorship and be less restrict. give more responsibility to other staff members, and don't ban members just because they don't listen to you or other staff members. banning is like execution, no one deserves a ban unless they do a serious forum crime(spamming/posting porn pics/abusing etc...), and the new registration thing is total crap and annoying(for new members), unless you wanna make this more of a private forum than public, then I think it works pretty well and I suggest you to add an application form so they can fill it up and you judge them based on that.

other than those I think the forums run pretty smoothly...
I will post here if I find other complaints/suggestions.

1. I know that the hide tag has a LOT of loop holes and etc. But, at the same time with my limited knowledge over programming, for the lack of a better term, it is almost impossible for me to create new application for these things. At the very least, the hide tags have made comments increase in the download section...

2. Zetaboards doesn't posses this feature at least not that I am aware of. And I have looked up codes for this function and most of them do not work well...

3. I agree especially because a lot of the bww2 threads are more of a daily conversation type based. And that's already been tried in the old forum.... =_________=; we got nothing but stupid spammers.

4. Hmm will await for further comments on this.

5. I already responded to this...personally I think this should've been taken care of by the posting formats. But, people either don't know how to see the "true" quality of their files and/or they are just plain too lazy to post it.

6. About giving new responsibilities to other Staff members, it has been done. For example it was the Super Mods whom have been mostly taking care of the Artist of the Month and helping me look for new codes. Also, almost everything new that happens in bww2 is discussed with all the staff members before anything is announced/done on bww2. As a matter of fact sometimes I feel like I need to be more active with the Staff.

As for banning, I am sure your referring to a particular case. Bww2 Staff members including myself a lot of times give plenty of chances for the member to redeem themselves and try to sort it out through PMs. Often most members that do get banned only get banned for on average 1-3 days, but after that they are free to come back to bww2. And I would have to disagree with you on the "terms" for banning, I mean if the member after so many times still commits the same thing it will add up. It wouldn't make sense to just keep giving only warnings...I think this has a lot to do with personal opinions and views of the situation.

The registration thing is not a permanent thing and I will be taking that off once I feel its safe. And applications for what? New mods or...? If it's for moderating positions, I do not think its needed we have 3 admins plus 5 Super Mods and 1 Mod.

yeah well, if you give them 5 times warning then they get banned, thats another story than directly banning someone.
also about that case, i didn't know the guy anyway, so his existence or non-existence doesn't affect me at all... i was just saying this for future problems.

and about the application:
i said if you wanna make the forum private, like accepting only certain new registers, then its a good idea to put up an application with couple of questions to show their personality, interest etc... so we can judge them by that and decide whether they should join or not.

IF youre gonna accept all of the new entries, then admin approval is totally pointless and is just a waste of time.
you said its not permanent, but I think even now its a waste of time to use that feature... I mean even if the banned people return, you can't find them because they eventually alter their IPs to get in.

Yay, i think its fair that people such as uploaders who take their time to upload files should at least get 8 word responses instead of just a 'thx'

-Are you happy with the current organization/layout? Does it make it easier to browse through bww2?

yes, i'm fine with how the layout is now

-What is your opinion about these new additions to the forum? Do you guys read the Announcement and Important panels often? Are they functional and practical?

Announcement and Important panel, multiple themes for the forum, Chat box are great but it would be great if there was a better search function

-Does the Artists of the Month, actually help you encounter new and intriguing artists? Does bww2 effectively present the featured artists?

all good, its how i found out about IU, she's awesome

- Do bww2-ers think the new projects would increase members' posting activity and interaction with the community?

for the projects [Scavenger Hunt game...etc] seems good, but it would need a reward for it to get going

-As a member of bww2, what would entice you to be an active member? Is there something in particular that interests you in a forum?

hmmm, maybe if you add things such as lifestyle [Fashion/Beauty, fitness/health, food/drinks, Travel] and IT talk, it it might get more people to converse

What do bww2-ers think about the word limit? Yay...nay? If your answer is nay then what would be an alternative? Please give a VALID and INTELLECTUAL answer.
I find the world limit pretty useless, because I've seen people post jibberish (not necessarily spam) to fill up the 8 word limit.
I liked the old idea of 50 posts and Super Member before seeing the Downloads section, but I think this should be increased to 100 because 50 really isn't much, a bit of spamming and that's done - no real interaction. 100 posts however, forces the person to really find places to post and I think by the time they get to 100, they would have posted in various places, met some new people and actually interacted in the forum.

What is your opinion about these new additions to the forum? Do you guys read the Announcement and Important panels often? Are they functional and practical?
Having the Announcements and Important panels up the top really helps because as soon as I sign in I can look for any new things. The Announcements panel is one I look at the most.
Can I also add that in the Master List of Rules and [Warning] Spam Filter that NOWHERE does it say the 8 world limit ONLY applies to specific sections of the forum, i.e. it doesn't apply to Games but Downloads? Or maybe I'm just blind, which is highly possible sorry :D
Themes for the forum I haven't seen much of, I don't see the option anywhere and that's my fault really (I think) because of my browser.
Chat box could do with some tidying up, making it the same width as the forum would make it look nicer I think if it can be done. The idea of the Chat box is really cool, especially how it appears at the bottom wherever you go - convenient (to be honest due to my browser blocking Scripts/JavaScript I didn't know there was a Chat box until very recently).
Double click quick edit and Arcade I really don't know what they are to be honest :S (Unless you mean the edit button underneath...? But again I think that's something wrong with my browser.) But yes I have no idea what the Arcade is.
As for the search engine, I haven't used it in a while but last time I did I know that you need a separate account. If possible shouldn't it be linked to the bww2 forum, as in use the same account? I remember it was also really messy and thought it should be tidied up - all the songs should have been under the one artist rather than having multiple artists of the same name come up. Since (I think) that the bww2 music search engine account used isn't linked to our own forum account, people can just use the search engine, grab the link and download without saying thanks (again I think) and that's bad as the uploaders aren't given their credit.

Does the Artists of the Month, actually help you encounter new and intriguing artists? Does bww2 effectively present the featured artists?
I like the idea of artist of the month, I check them out but I think a reason should be given as to why they were chosen i.e. what sets them apart from other newcomer or underrated artists? What makes them deserve to be named Artist of the Month, what sets their music apart that would make us like them? I know this goes beyond just introducing us to artists we may not have heard of but I think a sort of "Review" on them by the poster (with personal opinions), instead of just facts or a copy and paste off Wikipedia, would really help.

Do bww2-ers think the new projects would increase members' posting activity and interaction with the community?
I don't know about other people, but posting activity for me depends on my time, and it doesn't really matter what excitement there is, but school really comes first and I think you have to keep that in mind.
However, there have been times during break where I was posting and since nobody replied I lost interest, so I think something new with variety would help.
For any games (you mentioned a Scavenger Hunt), people will play for fun sure but there has to be an incentive, a goal to be exact. My point is people will play more if there is a prize or reward to be achieved. So maybe like a new title as well "Scavenger Hunt Winner" with how many times they've won? I'm thinking something like that as people would strive to up their wins.

As a member of bww2, what would entice you to be an active member? Is there something in particular that interests you in a forum?
Oh I really like the culture/cuisine/fashion idea. The Conversation Station is good but too general and not as active as the 411 area.
I'd like a section where we discuss in-fashion, or new trends but can post like links if possible, recommending people to safe sites where they can buy/see stuff of Asian culture (clothing brands, current Japanese/Korean trends etc.) and discuss it. E.g. YesStyle or Strapya World. The links part I know is an issue because a random new person who has ill intentions could post a link to an unsafe site.
I don't know if this will necessarily bring in more posters...but I think if people are constantly updated on new trends and items, they'll want to learn more about it and keep coming back - so it would have to be a considerably active section :X

I think it's good you mods put this questionnaire up, you guys are putting in so much effort, so I want to thank you guys for making this bww2 a really good experience <3 Those suggestions are just extra, I think the forum is fine the way it is and you guys are doing a really good job.

I know it's not the best defense, but I do trace their IPs and do some research with the e-mail and username they register with. I think this way it blocks most attempts to get in and if they do slip by I can just delete their accounts.

Tofuu
The search function if you mean by the search function of the forum. That was built in by ZetaBoards so we do not have any control over that search engine or at least that's what I know.

As for the reward on the games.... ._____.; The Staff of bww2 are sadly just students with absolutely no money. So we were trying to think of giving prizes out without money, but it's hard. Unless some really really nice and sweet Bww2-er decides to be a sponsor...

Oblivion
1. Well, that has been tried in the old forum and it came out quite a mess. Bww2 got a lot of spammers, the Staff got overworked and mad, and on top of that the people who got the requirement posts stopped afterwords. And overall it killed the bww2 community, but maybe we can remodel this where it can actually work.

2. Ah thanks. Will update the Master List of Rules or rather clarify them. As for Bww2.com and the search engine sadly I don't have any control over that...Yusuf is still the one "taking" care of that. But, I will try to see if I can get him to let me have access to that part of bww2. I am not sure if it's possible to link the forum to bww2.com...considering they are two different websites and systems. I will ask about it though...

3. The Artist of the Month is actually more like picked at random. The entire Staff are people who knows quite a lot about Asian music, so we should have a good grasp as to which artists are underrated or not well known to mainstream listeners. As for a more profound profile "Review", hm well a lot of times because they are not well known its extremely hard to know them in depth not to mention a lot of times the Staff does not have a in depth knowledge of the artists; only general info. But, I think it can be done...I just think if we were to do that bww2 would not be able to release these Artists of the Month on a monthly basis.

4. Like I said to Tofuu...the bww2 staff is like broke. So if we were to give prizes they would need to be free stuff, unless some awesome bww2-er decides to be our sponsor.

5. Will keep a tab on that idea.

As for #4 I don't think it needs to be anything physical, just maybe a new status or something online related? :X

Just a comment about the search function.
The search function on bww2.com isn’t the same as the search function on the forum.
The forum has its own search function. It's up on the right side under the banner next to the 'members' button.

-double click quick edit; you can double click your post and it will bring to quick edit not just the edit button
-arcade; its also in the top right corner under the banner

Also the 100 word limit on the old bww2 made a huge rampage of useless spam and it made some active posting members angry to say the least. The hide tags were still there too; meaning members would have to get through the 100 posts plus get through the hide tag. So instead of trying to make more people happy (while keeping things efficient)..In the end were making even more angry people.

Sure some people know how to get around the hide tags, but not all people do so. Removing the hide tags will decrease the appreciation given to the up loaders who deserve it.

Are there any other options that you think would be better? I'll be looking around for codes.

^password protection also can help.

well to be honest, hide tag is not really a problem. the problem is thank you is not 8 words, and if you write anything unrelated it will be considered as spam. so you should comment about the file you are downloading to reach the 8 words without saying unrelated stuff. but then again there is a problem that you cant see the file before you post which makes a circle out of the situation.

Another problem is the meaning behind the posts in download section :p I know many people post to get the file, which increases the replies in download threads, but I don't think thats good. I mean saying "thank you" only because you have to is different than saying "thank you" because you really appreciate the upload.
Personally I don't like to get fake thank yous.

now do we want to increase the posts or do we want the people be really thankful to the uploaders?

^Isn't password protection going too far though?
I agree with Mani on the 'thank you' thing, how people say thank you just to get the link but not actually being thankful and considerate of the uploader...

@Nikki - yeh I don't see an arcade...nor a banner on my bww2 :S And yeah quick edit doesn't work for me - just my browser I think
As for the 100 post thing, idk then because the 8 word limit really isn't effective but I wish I could suggest something else ><

Password protected forums are not that great. The password can be easily shared through the community defeating the entire purpose of it. As for the thank you thing, erm if I can find the code maybe?

The arcade is at the top right hand corner....

About the uploaders not wanting nonmeaningful 'thankyous'; The uploaders aren't forced to use the hide tages. The hide tag function is there if they want to use it -- it's optional. So it all depends on what the uploader wants, if they'd rather get the thankyous over leeching then they'd put it up. Plus it also bumps their thread up so i'd think the uploaders use it because they like it. Maybe the members don't, but it's the uploaders choice.
--
Woops mani, i misread. SO you were talkin bout the 8 words..
For now its there. Maybe we can re-think it. You do hold a good argument
--
hmm maybe try using a different browser?? thats really odd...

as for password protection..the password would spread and even if we warn the members to not spread it, there's no way we can stop them. So doesn't seem like that would work either

ehhh oblivion is jazzie? i didn;t know >.<

anyway jazz, I can see the arcade and I can use the quick edit by double clicking, but i can't see the banner, and thats because the website is blocked in here :p

I got an idea for the 50 posts thing.
we can do something like this:
new registers can only see songs-playlist-request-performance section
then after 25 posts(that should be thank you posts in download sections) they can access video section.
then after 50 they can access discography and album...

something like that. that way even without the hide tag they need to post ;p

What do bww2-ers think about the word limit? Yay...nay? If
your answer is nay then what would be an alternative? Please
give a VALID and INTELLECTUAL answer.

- I think that the word limit is quite reasonable because it really does give the chance for people to take time and really thank the uploaders and let alone so actually say something useful or something more instead of just wanting to quickly spam for the sake of letting their post counts increase. Even if its not for the download section and for maybe the 411 - people can type up a bit more and that way get to know each other better to build up a happy bww2 : )

Are you happy with the current organization/layout? Does
it make it easier to browse through bww2?

- I personally think that the layout of the new bww2 does make it easier to browse through and is quite user friendly.

What is your opinion about these new additions to the forum? Do
you guys read the Announcement and Important panels often? Are
they functional and practical?

- The idea of the annoucement and important panels are a good idea so that when people sign in, the first thing they see are the new accoucements and what else to read up before continuing their way through the forum. It gives them an update and for them to aknowledge what changes are happening throughout the forum or what warnings there might be so they are aware to not cross the line or what so ever.

Does the Artists of the Month, actually help you encounter new and
intriguing artists? Does bww2 effectively present the featured artists?

- The idea of the Artists of the Month is a good idea especially when not only their picture is on the banner but their name. It's like a recommendation method for those who have not heard of those artists to actually search them up and maybe try out their music. This can also expand their knowledge of Asian music which is really, TOPS!

Do bww2-ers think the new projects would increase members' posting activity
and interaction with the community?

- There are pros and cons to having new projects of increasing postings and for a better interaction in the forum. I like the idea that yes, people might come together to do this particular activity but for how long will it last? It's like any game created in this forum.. it eventually dies because people aren't bothered anymore and you might wait for probably a week or so before you see a reply.

I know there are some people in this forum that really wants to bring the bww2 family together again but there are also a majority of the people who can't be bothered because their aim being in this forum is for the downloads. Also there are some people who are so busy in the 411 section that whatever happens outside of the 411 isn't a huge problem to them. I know this can't be helped but its the thought that they have escaped to that one section that the rest of the forum has been neglected.

As a member of bww2, what would entice you to be an active member? Is
there something in particular that interests you in a forum?

- For me I'd like to see more competitions happening in bww2 if possible. Like it could be a literature or design based or whatever possible. Prizes don't have to be money worth but maybe some kind of recognition for the week/month or whatever time period possible. There can also be a 'member of the month' thread where each active member who has done maybe the most deeds in the month (through upload or sharing stories and solving matters) are recognised in a thread and they can also write down a minor profile to introduce themselves and so they can be remembered on the forum. This might even inspire other members to do good deeds around so they too can be members of the month.

What do bww2-ers think about the word limit? Yay...nay? If your answer is nay then what would be an alternative?

Sorry hope it's alright if I just answer this question.
I think the 8-word limit is a tad bit too much. If it was 5 words, it would be alright. I find myself having to repeat myself (not exactly word for word) every time I say thank you to each individual post. I'm not saying that its a hassle to say thank you to the uploader, because I do agree that we should be thankful for all the effort uploaders go through to post something.

So I guess what I'm trying to say is....maybe cut down the word limit to 5? Haha I know it doesn't sound much, but it does cut down all the "woos!" and numerous emoticons (ok..maybe one or two) that come after it. And I am a person who doesn't talk much..so i do run out of things to say..>< (just because the small number of posts I have made on this forum doesn't mean I don't read the forums! XD)

Anyway thanks for the questionaire!

Edit: Sorry if I do repeat something that someone has posted before me.. I don't have time to read every single one ><

1. I actually like the 8 words limit. It is not a lot AT ALL... These uploaders deserve some love in their thread for all their hard work. I say yay!

2. The organization, I honestly liked the older system better, categorized by languages instead of by Album, Songs ,etc... I felt that it was easier to navigate for things. So, if I wanted something in Korean, I can just go search in the Korean section and vice versa for all the other languages

3. I actually read the flashing announcement. They are so convenient and really accessible instead of going into another section and reading it from there. I think this addition was great!

4. Artist of the Month really does help me branch and meet other artists not in the idol category. I really loved the concept when the first Artist of the Month was released.

5. Well, this is a download forum, so I wouldn't think that many members are here to make friends, I really don't mind, to be honest. The projects, I'm not sure if it will make members interact more, maybe maybe not, you guys should try it.

6. This forum has many things to make me active, the downloads, of course as well as the other like the lyrics and Artist of the Month threads, but thats about it. I'm usually a silent reader *shoot me* in the other threads.

01. I like the word limit. I'm an uploader, so I like my comments. :)

02. The new layout is fine. :)

03. No I don't read the announcements because I don't come here often anymore...

04. I like the Artist of the Month idea. It keeps the forum alive, I think. :)

What do bww2-ers think about the word limit? Yay...nay? If
your answer is nay then what would be an alternative? Please
give a VALID and INTELLECTUAL answer.
- Previous system was the "50 posts & Super Member"
which included the hide tag system.

-please remove the 8 word limit. its crippled the fun of bww2. i find myself having to force some sort of faux thank you, and even if i have a genuine one i dont have that much to say. if i were to suggest anything i'd recommend it would be 50/100 posts in certain forums of which are filtered by the mods and if satisfactory (not spam/one word posts) they gain access to the downloads section

Are you happy with the current organization/layout? Does
it make it easier to browse through bww2?

-yep. its great. thanks for the awesome effort and making this place bigger and better (except the word limit and me not getting my special coloured name =P)

-yes they are. although they're a little smaller at least i do see them and have a look =) yet to try the arcade area though.

Does the Artists of the Month, actually help you encounter new and
intriguing artists? Does bww2 effectively present the featured artists?

-great initiative great to learn about new artists that dont get a lot of publicity who still produce GREAT music that we would have missed out on if you guys dont tell us about them. THANKS and keep it up ^^

Do bww2-ers think the new projects would increase members' posting activity
and interaction with the community?

-of course they do. it'd bring back interest in bww2 outside the downloads section and promote interaction

-fashion and food fo' sho. thats what we asians are famous for aren't we? and its definitely something i'd be interested in pioneering. in reference to those glory days u were referring to...back then (sorry for the french) no-one gave a rat's ass about enforcing thank yous or leechers. all it was about was the togetherness that REAL bww2 members spent with each other because they genuinely wanted to, not because they were forced, obliged or needed to. and that genuine, sincere desire to interact with other bww2 members, love for the forum and want to see it grow and blossom was what made bww2 the beautiful place it was. we were in it for each other and for the music. not to dictate rules and regulations or care about leechers.

sorry about the rant. but i honestly feel being a bww2 vet that bww2 has lost over time. its kinda like a band over time being commercial and losing the very reason and uniqueness that was theirs.
anyway thats my 2c. i hope it at least sparks some thought and nostalgia =)

-keep up the good work. that's all any of us mere mortal members could ever ask of you wonderful staff ^^

-edit-
i'd love to upload but my 1tb hdd died and everything inside went with it
800+gb, 6 years worth of collecting went down the drain. sorry i cant share the love of my gackt collector's edition and discontinued material T-T

1. I liked the old forum a lot. but if you change to 50 posts to download, people will just try to get to the 50post and then stop posting...
but the 8 word limit? what else do you have to say besides "thank you"? thanks very much. i really appreciate it..... it's pretty much the same meaning. but uploaders do deserve appreciation. so... i wouldn't really know.

2. The new layout is nice

3. to be honest i havent been going on here that much since the old bww2.

4. When i first saw the artist of the month, i thought it was pretty cool, but i dont think it has been updated very much. but it is a great way to spread the music.

5. yes. we should do a lot of fun activities =]

6. probably fan projects? i know this isnt a forum for a specific singer/group but it would be fun to make stuff for singers and groups and send it to them.
competitions?? dance, singing, making music?

i know i sounded very negative but i was wondering when the old bww2 will be opened for viewing. i wanted to see it cause most of the old stuff and uploaded stuff are there.

it would be cool if you could like bring the old uploads back on here. and updating faster would be nice.

^What do you mean the Artist of the Month has not been updated very much? We've released a new Artist of the Month pretty much ever since this was first released.

Hmm fan projects. Well, I also think it's a great idea cept I am not too much into the Korean fandom so I don't know who I would send these things to. But, I'll find out...Japanese fandoms tend to reject fan gifts .____.;

As for the old bww2 the old downloads will not be viewable on the old forum. We will be transferring them to the new forum...the only thing is...I can't seem to find a time to do a mass moving thread/forum type of thing.

^ oh im sorry. it was probably because of that november that got me. November was a long month for me =P. When i kept going on i kept seeing IU, and kept wondering when that would change. sorry about that.

will some of the topics be moved as well?? It's allright for me if you dont have much time. im satisfied with the downloads on here for now. is there a way to help move the threads?

We are in the process of moving threads from the old forum. This project will be kept between Mods and Uploaders only.

I think the 8-word limit and 50 posts before downloads were a good ideas to encourage greater forum participation. A lack of topic creativity has probably hindered forum participation, rather than the above policies. We all just have to be willing to take the first step.

Previously, handful of us thought that after 50 posts people would stop posting, but if there's an ongoing number of people trying to reach 50 posts then this shouldn't be a problem. Also, the more people talking, the more there is to talk about so there will be people that continue to post after 50. =)

I don't have much to say about how things are organised in the downloads section since I don't have access yet. As for everything else, I think it's great - easier to navigate.

Only one thing throws me off and that is the size of the bread crumbs. Can that be truncated and/or made to a smaller font size. Reading long long bread crumbs that are longer than one line is annoying and makes it harder to navigate.

The new additions are great - it's all very handy. I didn't know about the double-click quick edit function and probably a lot of other cool additions. I suggest maybe a box somewhere with a 'Tip of the Day/Week', where you can highlight all the new features one at a time.

Shorter and more succinct announcements would be appreciated. Perhaps like highlights of the New/Announcement at the start of the post and details following. So sort of how the issues of this questionnaire was summarised into a couple of lines with some details preceding each. It just makes it much easier for getting the message across to people with short attention spans/patience.

I definitely approve of Artist of the Month. Not only am I introduced to new artists but also to genres of music I never really listened to before. Also, when the Artist of the Month is someone I know, it's kind of reassuring.

Definitely, though I think Admin's shouldn't be too ambitious about their projects. In the end the most practical/functional things work best. Leaping comes after learning to run. =)

As I mentioned in my first answer, interesting topics of discussion is best. The logic in my head is cyclical along these lines:
More topics -> more things people may be interested in -> more talking -> more interaction/activity -> more members -> repeat
